I’m also passing an abandoned bike which caught my attention, nearly every day for over a year. But it’s locked with 2 locks :/
That’s always a problem. Obtain a bike “for parts”, learn the bike’s individual charm, fail to “kill” the bike by dismantling for parts.
I have to dismantle them the day I get them or they take on their own personalities, I have to get more bikes for parts, and my wife gets mad.

changed all the broken components to give it a proper test ride. I wanna set the rear rack lower so it‘s in line with the front one. Or maybe remove it. Open to suggestions since yall are good at it

Where do I go where abandoned bikes like these exist?
I’m going to mention belt drive for you to think about. Let it simmer a while.
Wonder if the bike was stolen then abandoned.
Either way you got a sick elevated chainstay bike for free and you’re doing it right by giving it new life.
