This book is exactly what you need.
“mastering mountain biking skills 3rd edition”
Some quick tips though would be to lossen your self up a Lil and try to pump into the jump ramp

  2. You aren’t riding the bike, it’s riding you. Bring the bike to you, don’t go to the bike. Learning to bunny hop is a sure fire way to learn to jump. This combined with compression before take off. This strategy changes as the jumps get bigger so keep working at it. A little whip isn’t just for looks. A spinning wheels centrifugal force out of alignment will want to come back on plane with one another, which helps keep you from falling “sideways” in the air. That is one of the bigger problems people have. Keep at it!! Have a blast!!

  3. You’re in a poor body position, almost like you’re afraid. Your body’s natural reaction is to pull away from “danger”. Get more aggressive in your position, elbows up, back straight, and head just over the bars with your head up. It’s very similar to motocross and jumping dirt bikes. The second clip you landed rear wheel first. It should almost always be front wheel slightly before the rear wheel, or both at the same time. Your room for error on a MTB is very small as you can’t “throttle” out of any jumping errors when you start to go bigger.

Just look up body position for jumping, start small, and progress. If you have access to a park with a foam pit, go there. Many dudes in the bike community will be willing to show you pointers and help a newbie out.

  4. There are a ton of jumping videos on YouTube that can break down how to jump. Take your video and compare it to one of the jumping videos to see what you are or not doing. For example, you don’t appear to be weighting your bike.
