  1. If I’m not mistaken there’s nothing ‘new’ about that Shimano 105 groupset. I think it’s a few generations old. The shifters have exposed cables too which signals they’re old as hell. 105 hasn’t done that in a few generations I think. It may be newly installed and an unused set, but it’s an old version. It makes you wonder why they replaced it and if they know what they’re doing to do so. It’s carbon which is awesome, but it’s old carbon so you want to be sure to look for any cracks. $275 (especially Canadian) is cheap for a ‘real bike’ but unless you were very knowledgable about bike maintenance and how to judge the condition of the bike I might steer clear of this one.

ETA: it’s a 2008, so about 17 years old…. Decent price, but be sure you know how to evaluate it.

  2. Charge your phone and go pick up this bike right now!
    It won’t be available tomorrow.

  3. I think any CAD that doesn’t need lots of parts/service is a good deal for under $300.

I just picked up a 1999 (I think? It is the last year they were made in the US) CAD R300 for $275. It’s been great but I did need about $100 worth of service

Yes. You might have to replace the crankset in about 2 or so years but as of right now, just lube the chain and get your favorite seat and adjust saddle height and you are good to go. When I was looking for a used bike I wasn’t landing on such amazing prices!
