The forecast looked a lot better in central Washington than western Washington the other weekend, so I started in Cle Elum on the Palouse to Cascades trail. Entering the town of Ellensburg, I turned south for the Yakima canyon and rode to a BLM recreation area with trails that allow bikes! Found a nice campsite and was offered seclusion the entire time. Beautiful area, vastly different from the mountains only 30 minutes west. Washington is heaven.
35ish miles each way. Fairly flat with ~600ft of elevation gain on the way out of the canyon the next morning.
