Would be cool to turn it into a mix of a gravel bike and old bmx bike, fixie gravel bike, even just the 26er conversions to gravel bikes are awesome

  2. Y’know…. Can’t argue with free 😅

But pls, for the love of ghad replace those shitty stamped brakes for some real caliper brakes. Do you have a local bike non-profit or co-op? That’s where you should take this thing to find some parts for it.

Edit: the good news is, those semi-horizontal dropouts mean you can easily make this into a fixie, and if you’re brave you could even make it a BRAKELESS fixie!! A quick shopping list for you:

    – square taper single speed crankset + chain ring
    – flip flop 26” rear single speed wheel (measure for axle width)
    – SS/fixed cog
    – single speed chain
    – front brake (necessary if you’re gonna run it single speed instead of fixed 24/7)
    – front brake C+H if you can’t/wont reusing the C+H from the original brake

Might be missing some things, I’m pre-caffeine right now. Have fun with this project!

  3. Looks like that stem is past the minimum safe insertion, you should either adjust it or replace it.

Yeah those horizontal dropouts will be prime for fixed gear or ss build. Would drop some weight too.
