I've got a carbon fiber frame OBED Boundary with the GRX 1x and paid a little extra for the DT swiss wheels.
Then a $20 frame bag, the $20 fooker pedals (race face chester Chinese clones) and the cheapest water bottle cages I could find on Amazon.
To be fair, the rock bros bag just works. There's nothing wrong with it.
The fooker pedals I've had for like 3 years now, had them on my old gravel rig which was a Salsa. They've held up well. Probably a few thousand miles at this point.
The water bottle cages do indeed hold water bottles.
And my old bike did indeed ride 😂 but I wanted the obed and to experience full carbon fiber goodness.
It's so light and nimble. Climbs really well. Handles really well. Pretty comfy as is too.
The GRX 1x has been a dream too. My old rig had the shimano 107 which had a huge range, I was worried I'd miss the 2x. But the 1x honestly has a very wide range as well.
Also OBED was doing 0% financing for 12 months when I bought this last year. Shout-out OBED honestly. It's a great bike.

Got the same bag for my hybrid commuter, which I use around town and at lunches just to get some extra miles in the saddle. Its a good quality bag! Holds 2 phones, and my work badge/keys and a few other bits and bobs. No issues and no regrets with it either.
Will a thule back add 50watts to your pedals? Who cares???
Yeah my old rig had the shimano 107 too. CLASSIC
I’ll spend on the bike buildup, and even the pedals (as a heavy dude, I destroy cheap pedals).
I always *start* cheap on the bags. That particular rockbros bag been the perfect size bag for a couple of my setups. It tends to move around to whatever the newest bike is… at least till I get a better fitting matched set. Can’t seem to help it and drop a bit more when everything in a matched set goes on-sale (tailbag, handlebar, frame, toptube, and feedbag). I blame the REI annual sales. At this point, got both too many bikes, and too many bags.
I’m running a West Biking bento box bag and Rock Bros saddle bag. They have the perfect size I was looking for that name brands didn’t offer. They both have been flawless and combined price was less than half the cost of my wife’s Rapha bag 😂
Also that black on black looks so good! Have any other photos?
That bag isn’t bad – great for a town bike. can be a little floppy/soft so it really needs all points fixed. velcro sucks and nano voile straps are better (but that applies to all bags).
i got a [Rhinowalk Wilderness series half frame bag](https://rhinowalk.com/collections/bike-tube-bag/products/2-4l-triangle-frame-bag-wilderness-series) that is a bit heavy but quite nice. it isn’t welded but the bag itself was nicely made. Their boa [toptube](https://rhinowalk.com/collections/bike-tube-bag/products/waterproof-top-tube-bag-with-magnetic-locking) welded bag has been very stable on my commuter for half the price of a Tailfin, which is the creme de la creme of top tube bags.
there are lot more very good and affordable bags coming out of China, which are probably from the same OEM factories making the expensive stuff. (shrug).
