A run around the east coast of Mersea Island on a stunning February morning. Starting at the eastern tip of the island, following the coast before cutting inland to reach the other side of the island and running back along its coast. On the way we get lost and tired (not unusual) and have to wade through a sewage outfall (which is unusual).

Not like you to get lost Dad!! The walk through the sewage and needing to empty your trail shoes made it super adventurous ! Beautiful day for it too 🥰
Brilliant stuff! 😄 I definitely enjoyed this one. Nice to see that I'm associated with getting lost 😂
I was getting hungry when you got the half a flapjack out as well mate. Yum! That 14 mile route must be a mega adventure, if this half is anything to go by.
Looked like a really peaceful day for it out there Peter, great adventure! I've been watching the Sally McRae films, amazing. And funny you say how you reminded yourself that you're not her having to do 200 odd miles in the heat, I think exactly the same when I do long events 😅 particularly when she had those serious foot issues so early on in one of her 200 milers.
Ah peter didn't think you got lost!!!! Really enjoyed that video. Made me laugh. Thought you might end up swimming. Bet your shoes and trousers smell sweet. Glad your knees are feeling better. Love to you. ❤❤xx
We visited Mersea Island last year and did the parkrun at the country park. Brightlingsea is a very evocative place for John as he found the premises where his great grandfather sadly went bankrupt in 1893. A tale of woe.
Getting February out the way is definitely needed with all the rain we’ve been having. It’s nice to see the nights getting lighter though.
The only time I’ve seen large amounts of plastic washed up on a beach was in Gower. I ran an ultra in 2019 and crossing one of the beautiful beaches, the amount of plastic waste was a real eye opener.
Nice to see you enjoying the trails Peter. Soon be time for shorts and T-shirts again ☀️
'Temporarily misplaced' I like to put it or some 'unexpected exploring', good job with getting out & about Peter & I hope you've washed those shoes 👏
What a journey you've taken us on! From the serene coastline to the unexpected twists along the way, it's been a delightful adventure. Your upbeat narration and determination made it a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing your exploration with us, dear Peter!
