I’m wanting to buy a bike to ride around the neighborhood a bit as well as some of the small trails nearby. Is this a decent bike for the price? I’m new to biking and really just need to get outside more so I’m looking for something I can take on some easy dirt trails and maybe ride to the grocery store and things like that.

  1. No, look for a hard tail in that price range. Something much newer with 27.5” or 29” wheels. This bike’s suspension will need maintenance and that’s not something you want to bother with.

Look everyday as the fairly priced bikes will be listed and sold quickly. The Trek Marlin is a very popular entry level hardtail(in the US). Try searching for that.

    Looks like a cool bike.

Go and check it over if you can, some nice upgrades on it IMO.

26” is extremely outdated, as well as the geometry of the frame. At half that price it would be an OK deal for someone who likes vintage bikes and riding retro MTB for an extra challenge. This will not be fun for getting into the sport in 2025.
