The day started as the last one ended; with sunshine and warm temps!
We rode consession roads into Ayr…and took a couple of shortcuts from the GNR route in order to get to Ayr and our second breakfast, at a decent time.
From Ayr, we continued along paved roads to the Glen Morris, where we accessed the Cambridge to Paris RT, and continued along that beautiful trail to the Grand River to Paris…to lovely Paris.
We stopped in Paris to pick up some local craft beer, then continued along the SC Johnson trail to Brantford.
The MTB trails along the Grand River were so much fun…very fast and flowy…and we wished they would just keep going forever!
We stopped at the Dairy Queen in Brantford for a late afternoon nosh before continuing on out of town along the Gordon Glaves Memorial Pathway…and along the way, we stopped at a Tim Hortons for coffee, some snacks and provisions for wherever we were to camp that night.
The GNR map identified a wild camp spot on a high bank overlooking the city of Hamilton…and that’s where we ended up.
After setting up camp, we spent the evening enjoying our sandwhiches and beer while watching the sun set at our backs, and the lights of Hamilton getting brighter as the darkness ensued.
It was another amazing day on the GNR!
