At a minimum, you need a new bottom bracket. However, definitely inspect the inner diameter of the BB shell on your frame. The fact that that was able to just work itself out is a pretty bad sign.
As a general rule of thumb, if a press fit cup falls out with it being driven out, the BB shell is suspect for no longer being in spec. There are basically adhesives that could be used on a PF BB, but there is a chance if your buddy who bought it new registered the frame, Specialized might do a warranty on it if they take it into the shop and there’s something wrong with the BB Shell.
Just keep in mind that the warranty is only for the original buyer and if the frame was registered prior to the first ride.
Otherwise, as was mentioned, you need a new BB at least, you might need new cranks if the spindle is scored, and down the line, worst case the frame is either toast, or it needs so much work it might as well be toast.
