Came home from a ride and noticed this hanger was loose. I’m not sure what mounting technique has been used here, but I see no way of tightening this. It’s still shifts fine, but I am scared for the carbon.
I have contacted the manufacturer, hoping this might be a warranty issue.
Any help understanding this would be appreciated.

It’s a Fara F/Road, but its a really Factor O2 frame.

Am I screwed?

  1. No you are not. These are just rivets, you can drill them out and replace them with new ones. It might also help to additionally epoxy the hanger in place.

A competent LBS should be able to do it, but of course it’s a good idea to ask the manufacturer first.

  2. If it comes off, would a clamp mount adapter be a viable replacement? Can’t quite tell if the tube is a normal cylinder or some crazy shape.

  3. No that is riveted. *Badum tss*

    You could try warrantying that.

Or you can drill them just deeply enough to remove the heads, remove the hanger, push the rest of the rivets down to the BB shell, remove the BB so you can remove that, and install new rivets. A bike shop that regularly works with carbon frames should be familiar with this.

Or you can shim that with some thin runny penetrating superglue if you don’t care much about the paint under that.
