Hello MTB community! Picked up a new Specialized chisel FS comp have been getting acquainted with it. I’ve been riding gravel for years and wanted to ride more mountain bike, so I splurged on a new bike and my 25 year old Stumpjumper is now on the sidelines!
My first ride was fun, but the shifter (SRAM eagle GX 12 speed) rubs my thumb when downshifting so after the ride I moved the shifter inboard by swapping the set screw position. Second ride was a a little better but my hand still feels cramped.
I think I should move my brakes and shifter inboard a bit… anyone care to chime in?

Your controls and placement are very personal and different to each person. Set and space them how comfortable you want it
IMHO try moving your clamp inwards so your brake/ index finger is just inside the lever hook.
