I have a Cannondale Topstone 3 with stock wheels and tires. I bought a pair of Pirelli P-Zero Race TLR 700x40c tires to put on it. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get the first bead seated on the rim. Are these tires incompatible?
soapy water and a compressor will help but its on, right?

Right size, you need to get the tire bead all the way into the center channel of the rim, to have enough slack to get it all the way on.

Some tires are more difficult to seat than others. Are you setting them up with tubes or tubeless? You can try a little tire mounting paste or a small bit of soapy water to coax it.

Can’t really tell from the photos. Did you spray the sidewalls and rim with soapy water? Use a compressor? Remove the core? They are holding air, so rolling it around a bit semi inflated might help encourage it to seat better.

Are you referring to the 40 vs 37? If so you might be OK as long as you have enough clearance.

What pressure are you taking them up to?
