pull the handle bars towards your hips. you also gotta load up with your legs once you get the gist of it the rest is gravy GL!!

Slow down a bit and compare your posture to the how-to’s. Also try to “exaggerate”, cause BMX takes much more oomph than you think.
Focus on the actual hop- jumping upwards. That motion includes sucking the bars almost into your crotch / hips. The second motion is sucking up your feet (to allow the rear to rise) as you push the bars forward- as far as you can. Then end result is like squatting (in mid-air) with your arms locked all the way forward.
The jump gets your initial upward momentum / front end up, the forward push of the bars gets the rear of the bike off the ground.

Also place you feet better so you can help pull your bike your toes won’t do you any good but give you a gnarly shin injury

When I bunny hop anything max I do is 2 and a half pedals
