I decide to leave France and head to Belgium, but first I had to fix my bike with some sellotape – honestly!
I also attempted riding on the left hand side of the road in France, had a little English moment… not going to do that again.
Heading over the border into Belgium from France is a little bit like turning left at the village pub and heading into the local housing estate, it feels like there is no border at all!
It took about 4 hours to get over the border into Belgium where I turned the bars towards Bruges. What an exeptionally beautiful city.

Nice video and fantastic City
If you've not seen the fim "In Bruges" you should give it a go, very funny with Colin Farrell etc.
You cant beat France for biking, awesome.
I’m sure I saw you in Northern France. I was on a little 350 Enfield hunter enroute to Belgium . You have the same jacket as me😂
The incident at the right turn is so easy to do. The reason why the death of the young biker ,Harry, killed by the American woman on the wrong side of the road outside the listening base at Croughton is so tragic. Anybody who has driven/ridden on the continent and the UK regularly has done the same. Bruges is beautiful, but the culture is Flemish not French. Two completely different mind sets. Do watch "In Bruges". Funny and tragic. Especially the part where he has a fight with the American who has had too much bread…be warned!🤣
It’s sad when I watch your and many other bikers videos the lack of the Union flag on display at many of the cities of Europe, still at least people from the UK.are still welcome🥲🏴🇫🇷
Love the tape repair. I always keep some gaffa tape in my pannier for emergencies. Nice to get your own room at the youth hostel. I was imagining you’d be in a dorm with travelling gap year students!
I discovered Tuna on pizza in Germany a few years ago. It often comes with pineapple there 😋 Bruges looks lovely. Thanks for the vid, you’ve got me planing my next tour now!
Gees….carbs carbs carbs and carbs…you gonna be a walloping munter if you aint careful…you gonna get on them speaking scales when it says no coach party's please…Nice video.
Amazing video.
Thank you very much for it.
Happy Easter 😀
Bruges is one of my favourite places. We have visited many times in all seasons and have always had a great time.
The brake light man grossly underestimated your engine braking skills 😅
Respect showing your riding errors. Whoops a daisy. I've been there, done that, but kept it to myself.
A lovely video. Waffling one whilst eating a waffle! 😀 I hope your having a great time.
Tape repair. If it works it works. Love a good waffle. Always find the coffee tastes so much better in Europe. No matter what I’ve tried in Uk. It’s just not the same.
As for baseball caps. I’m the same. Although they all have triumph on them. Doesn’t cover my bad hair though. I don’t have any ha!
That's a really nice place there.
Such a fun video! What a beautiful place.
Really enjoyed the vid: it did make me laugh when the waffle appeared…safe riding.Richard Brizzle
My friend Paul (another Bristolian) had an "English moment" and drove his motorhome the wrong way round a roundabout in France many years ago and nearly knocked a biker off!! We went to France on the bikes last year and fortunately we had no wrong side of the road dramas, which was just as well because I was filming too! 😂
That waffle looked lovely. I have an incredibly sweet tooth, so there's no way I'd have been able to refuse at least one waffle from all of those waffle houses you walked by! Great vid, as always.
Another great video. Loving these
I never wore caps but now I'm getting into them. Probably the thinning 56 year old hairline and helmet head. Really liking the videos, I'm sorry about your Dad and his/your dog. I've lost both a few years ago and it's a hard thing to deal with, thank god for Triumph motorcycles.
A short break like this really recharges your batteries, doesn't it? There's not much that can't be temporarily fixed with duct tape and/or cable ties – never leave home without them!
Hi buddy, I've just discovered you've released about 5 posts that I've received no notification what so ever about & have complained to YouTube for what it's worth, It was bad last year, but this year it's beyond acceptable for the subscription we pay..I'll be going through your posts now mate
Just discovered your channel. What a great journey on the hoof too, the best way. You've inspired me to do a solo trip. I, too, suffer from 'dead fingers' it's called Raynards disease. ..nothing dangerous. Safe biking.
Went to Nice for 2 weeks last year mate; it is impossible to resist the boulangeries! IMPOSSIBLE!! We saw countless French people armed with fresh baguettes in the side mesh pockets of their day sacks! Quality grub at reasonable prices! Great content btw 👍
I've just come across your channel and enjoyed the video- I'll be looking out for your next video
Don't worry about your bike so much, the chance of getting it stolen is slim to none. It's not really worth anything. Not much money in parts and reframing it is more hassel than what it's worth. Now if you had a BMW GS or Harley then worry. On that subject, when are you going to test ride a sportster. That's a video I would really like to see. 👍
