So after months of building, collecting, and procrastinating, last weekend I jumped on a train out of London and rode around the new forest – 80km across 2 days so incredibly short… it was too hot in the night and I slept terribly, and now it seems as though every moment of every day, I’m thinking about and planning my next solo bikepacking adventure…
As a start I planned to return to the New Forest in the winter for more experience before wild camping but double the distance (which likely means more road than gravel) I’m finding the major issue is winter camping sites!!! Is finding camping spots that are open meant to be part of the challenge 🤣
Any advice for websites that advise clearly on camping in the winter in the UK?

I have only ever wild camped in winter in UK. I would advise trying to wild camp before winter though if you so that, there’s extra considerations you need to make wild camping, and even more winter camping. Together it might be too much too soon.
