I’m about to make a list now of the things I need so keep in mind. I got this all completely. It’s definitely much better than what sits behind it so I’m looking to make this bike last decade or two. I’m brand new here to the subreddit and cycling in general. So any suggestions are taken and definitely help. As always thanks for the read friends

Really hard to say until you starting giving things a hard clean. Frame, fork, and stem look fine with some clean up. The drive train looks like trash, I’d plan on replacing that. The rest could go either way. When replacing the drive train pay particular attention to spacing and compatibility- easy to make an expensive mistake.
