I’m looking at this bike on marketplace listed at $350 for my son.
We would be mostly riding on paved trails or light gravel. I think this is 2014 or 2015.
Does this look like a sound buy? Or should I keep looking?

That sounds expensive for the age of the bike, although I don’t know what the second hand market is like where you are.
But a brand new Trek FX1 is listed at 399 ….and yes it has some different components, but you’d get a bike with a warranty. And this 10yo bike looks like it’s still a steel fork and 3x? drivetrain.
I’ve seen other posts here on Reddit of people buying older FX series bikes for prices more like 150-200
