Part 1 Sand World Weymouth
Part 2 Sand World Weymouth
00:00:00 – 00:26:04
Hi and hello. Welcome to Weymouth Beach, one of UK’s most beloved seaside resorts, where golden sands meet historic charm and every visit feels like a timeless summer adventure. I’m going to take you along the beach front on my cycle, so you can get an experience of what it’s like to be walking on the Esplanade along the seafront and what you can experience and what you will see through my eyes.
00:26:05 – 00:51:03
Located on the stunning Jurassic Coast in Dorset, a Unesco World Heritage Site, Weymouth has been attracting visitors for centuries. And yes, we mean centuries. Weymouth. Rise to fame began in the 18th century thanks to King George the Third, who made it his holiday destination of choice. In fact, he was so fond of the place he he take regular dips in the sea right here.
00:51:04 – 01:20:06
You can even spot a statue of him on the Esplanade, proudly watching over his favorite beach. It wasn’t long before Weymouth became the go to Victorian beach resort, complete with donkey rides, traditional Punch and Judy shows, some of which you can still see today. And Weymouth Beach is still going strong. With its gently sloping sands and calm, shallow waters, it’s a hit with families, swimmers and anyone who loves a classic British seaside day out.
01:20:07 – 01:43:11
Feeling adventurous? You can try stand up paddle boarding, kayaking or even banana boat rides all right off the shore. And if you’re more into relaxing, there’s more like grabbing. There’s nothing like grabbing a deckchair, munching on some fish and chips, and watching the world go by. And a few facts about Weymouth. Did you know Weymouth hosted the sailing events during the 2012 London Olympics?
01:43:12 – 02:15:27
Its naturally sheltered bay made it perfect spot for sporting events. The Jurassic Coast stretches 95 miles or reveals 185 million years of Earth history. So if you’re into fossil hunting, this place is a gold mine. Weymouth Historic Clock Tower, built in 1887, was a gift to Queen Victoria and has become one of the town’s most iconic landmarks. The beach also hosts Weymouth Carnival, fireworks displays and live music festivals throughout the summer.
02:15:28 – 02:41:04
It’s truly buzzing with energy. What have other tourists been saying about this place? Some of the reviews that I read before coming out of my adventure check this out. Tourist one we’ve been coming here every summer for ten years. The kids love it and there’s something for everyone. Best beach in the UK, hands down. And another tourist. I was saying the sand is actually soft, not like some of those pebbly beaches.
02:41:05 – 03:01:11
The water was so clear it felt like we were aboard. And another tourist said we love the mix of history and fun. Walked the north fort in the morning and ice cream on the beach. Lunch. Can’t wait to come back. There’s many more positive reviews which entice me to come out here and check out. I was not disappointed.
03:01:12 – 03:25:06
The Weymouth beach is almost three miles long and we are coming up to the one mile marker. We’ve only covered one third of this beach seafront. What I’m showing you. There’s so much more to explore. Check out the No Fort, a Victorian coastal defense turned museum with under ground passages and some spooky ghost stories. Head over to Sea Life Center to meet sharks, turtles and rays.
03:25:07 – 03:47:12
Perfect for rainy days. Don’t miss the breweries at the old brewery turned shopping haven, with local crafts and cozy cafes tucked inside historic walls. And you got the amazing harbor. Also, my favorite has to be the Sound World Weymouth, which I have posted down below for you to check out in a special video by myself. Weymouth Beach is more than just a pretty place.
