Crossing into Eastern Spain from France

Hi everyone, I'm currently on my way to Barcelona and will be coming from Carcassonne to Spain.

Im riding quite a heavy touring bike and can't do real gravel or mud.

I've read so much about people having issues with crossing because of gravel and mud, but can't find on which sections of the ev8 exactly.

It seems to me there are three options for me to cross:

Perthus, col de banyuls and the n260 on the coast.

Has anyone done those before ? Which one would would you recommend? Is banyuls more beautiful than perthus? It seems to mentioned more often.
