  1. You may notice that the bolts that attach the disc calipers to the frame (or adapter) have ridges that run vertically along the side. The little collars in your photo are pressed onto the bolt heads after they’re screwed in completely and they grab the ridges on the bolt head to prevent it from rotating and loosening (theoretically). The reason you may not have seen them on other models is bcause they’re not absolutely necessary, especially if the bolts are otherwise secured with loctite (as most brake bolts will be).

    They go around the bolt head of the caliper bolts to stop them from loosening. They aren’t really necessary to be honest.
