Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get back into riding trails after a very long break. I've been doing some research and came across the local Polish brand Dartmoor, and their Primal Pro 29 caught my eye.

I'm thinking about going for the Pro configuration, and the local price is around €1250. It seems like solid value, but I’d really appreciate some second opinions.

A few things I’m curious about:

  • How does the geometry hold up by today’s standards?
  • Any thoughts on the parts spec? Anything that stands out as a highlight or a red flag?
  • I’m on the heavier side, and one of my goals is to get more active and drop some weight while having fun on the trails – would this bike be a good match for that?
  • Is €1250 a fair deal for this setup, or could I get better value elsewhere?

I'll drop a few pics showing the geo chart and parts list for reference.

And here the link to the bike: https://dartmoor-bikes.com/hardware/trail/primal-pro-29-2

Appreciate any opinions or advice. Cheers!

  1. My last bike from a few years ago was built from a Dartmoor Primal 27.5 frame set. I originally got it because it had newer geo, and the price was suuuuper low ~$300. I loved the thing and it was a lot of fun downhill, although it was too aggressive since I do more bikepacking. The thing was a tank, very stiff, so I think it would work great for you. I can’t speak to the component setup. I ran mine with a rigid carbon fork 😬

  2. Wirelessness on

It looks pretty good except for that 72* seat angle. I’m wondering if the effective angle is maybe steeper but according the website that is the “eSA”. I personally would not want anything close to 72 degrees.
