Fuuuuuck no. I literally sold a specialized rock hopper for 80 bucks last year after paying $20 for it. Who cares if the guy’s a bike mechanic why does that make you think you can’t rip you off. If I put a piece of paper on OfferUp for $200 that doesn’t mean it’s worth $200 that just means I’m asking that price. Buy a newer mountain bike after like 2014. $500 gets you super far you can get something worth like 1500 bucks if you’re lucky.

For half that price…sure, you can buy a giant escape or trek duel sport new at full price from a local bike shop for that price…and I’d be willing to bet a new one would come with a discount.

Not in a million years should you pay $580 for that bike. The very top end of a mint all original rockhopper is maybe $300 Canadian, this has Chinese chainrings, some wonky looking stem, just walk away.

580 cad about 415usd here in the states definitely no. There are plenty bikes that would be far better and about the same price for sure. Im not sure what kind of deals are around in that part of the world but just take a closer look around you can probably find something cheaper and better
