Last week I went on a sponsored Headwater trip to Andalucia. The solo bike touring holiday was the perfect blend of culture, natural beauty, sport and relaxation.
Headwater are specialists in self-navigated trips so they took care of everything – the planning, the route, booking hotels and transporting my luggage. All I had to do was ride, eat tapas and have a good time. Winning!
The route offers a blend of cultural immersion and natural beauty, with opportunities to savor fresh seafood and soak up the region’s maritime history. With mild weather and relatively flat terrain, this bike tour is accessible to riders of various skill levels, promising a sun-soaked adventure full of Spanish charm. Same here on the coast in Devon this morning, so much rain it's flooded the pasture where the horses and pony are. Never seen it this bad this time of year in a couple of decades.
Tyhe legs tied like that just stops them roaming to far and allows them to free graze, but yes it is not ideal, but better than trapped in a field I suppose. A clever donkey/horse would get another one to nibble the rope, well maybe not just wishful thinking on my part.
What was that at 5 mins 49 sec with the bottles of wine outside the property. They would be gone in a second down here in boozy Dawlish 🤣
Thanx 4 sharing, looks lie a wonderfully setup Hotel for cyclists, I am impressed.
You need to put your watch strap in the keeper. As a watch guy with ocd, this is driving me crazy! 😂
A bike is the best way to take in & absorb any new city. Fast enough to cover plenty of ground but slow enough to see everything around you. 🔥🚴🏻♂️🔥
Love it! I was cycling in Seville earlier this year (thankfully without rain).. and was cycling in Lisbon/Sintra last week with torrential rain and thunder storms (which doesn't mix well with cobbles and tiled, steep streets) and also had to wear one of those beautiful plastic ponchos!😂🙈
Stay safe and happy riding✌🏼
Are the streets so empty because of the weather or is it 'always' like that?
rock it Miss UK
that ending was a bit abrupt 😉
Cool bike ride Juliet 👍☀️
and of course at the beginning of the Via de la Plata, although further than Cadiz and an easy ride gravel suited
I wasn't sure if your were wearing Gucci or Gaultier? 😂 Looks like it'll be a great trip again. Mind you, with all your trips, I'm sure you classify as tax exile now. 😂 Enjoy. 👍
Miss Juliet, Thank you for the post. Glad the rain cleared up and you had a nice ride.
In Spain the spending a % of their transport budget on cycle tourism, as it makes up 7% of their tourist economy.
Enjoy the holiday, great there is a cycle room, my town only has just started installing a few bike racks outdoors with my influence of getting on the front cover of the local paper 😉
So the Tour company takes your luggage from hotel to hotel and you just ride with minimal stuff on your bike?
