You cannot repair aluminum in a cost effective way. Sometimes you can just buy the rear triangle replacement from trek or find a used rear triangle. Other than that the frame is toast.

  2. Trek has lifetime warranty on frames. Even if this isn’t technically “frame” as they classify full suspension differently for warranty, they’ll give you a sizable discount on this part. Take it to a Trek store and ask.

Only way to repair the bike is to replace the broken portion. Occasionally rear linkage components pop up on places like eBay or you can talk to your local Trek dealer to see what they can find.

  4. Go to any trek dealer and see if they can order a new rear end for this bike. Very common thing for them to stock actually. The front half of the bike is what’s modified for different sizes, the back half is the same for all of the bikes in that model line.

I had a buddy buy a 2012 Trek FS frame and he broke the chainstay in an almost identical way to how you did. He broke it in like 2021, brought it to a trek dealer, and he managed to buy the last set of chainstays trek had for that model. So it’s very likely trek may have replacement parts available.

I would also suggest you do a full pivot-bearing replacement on the frame while the whole thing is taken apart. Relatively inexpensive and will make your frame feel like new!
