I’m super short standing at 5’5 (barefoot)
I’m about to pull the trigger on the Ozark Trail FS.2 Slalom Full Suspension Mountain Bike, 29"Wheels, Small Frame.
-15 inch frame fits riders 5'1" – 5'5"
Or should I just get the 17 inch frame for people 5’6 – 5’9?
Also, what looks better? Black or white? (Can’t decide)

There’s a free 90 day return so I say try both and see what u like. The white is really nice
Get the smaller one. Itw easier to have a bike slightly smaller than larger. The white looks nice. Check all the hardware and bolts before you rip it, I know Walmart has a bad habit of poor assembly. It’ll be a fun ride
Once you get your size sorted you’re going to want to not buy this. $500 will get you an acceptable used hardtail from a reputable brand. That’s the best thing you can do to get into mountain biking. I won’t argue that Walmart can’t built an acceptable hardtail but you absolutely do not want to venture into full suspension. Seriously. Do not do this. I’m Not being elitist here. I’m a professional bicycle mechanic. The $500 you spend here is gone forever and you will hate this bicycle. You will not be able to upgrade or improve it to something functional. It is and will forever be a ‘bicycle shaped object.’
please go to a bike shop and talk to someone. You don’t have to buy from them. Just tell them what you want out of a bike and they can give you so much advice. Take that advice and buy a used hardtail.
I’d suggest watching this before pulling the trigger… although since Seth posted it just this morning, you might be buying the bike as a result of his video.
If not, know that Seth is a well respected person in the MTB creator space, and isn’t afraid to give a bad review when he feels it’s warranted.
