So a friend just bought this orbea for very cheap. Like VERY cheap. So at worst he will sell the parts and still double his invest.
He doesn't ride Mountainbike, he just likes the looks (yea I know). So IF he decides to keep the bike and ride it nonetheless, keep in mind that he will just ride it around the street and maybe drop a few curbs, if at all.
The frame is damaged, though. It's carbon and the damage is on the seat stay. It's pretty deep and I told him that I personally would trash the frame or have it repaired at least. But I want your hive mind as a second opinion on this before I make him gut the bike and sell the parts, as he generally listens to what I say.

Simple repair job. Sand down the paint in a little area around it, put some carbon cloth over it and soak it with epoxy. Trim up, put filler over it, sand it smooth and paint with matching nail polish. Then put some frame protector over it so it doesn’t happen again.
I’d run it if I was to ride around the block and jump curbs. I’d have it repaired if I was planning on hitting any trails though.
Like a gobstopper, I suggest you keep licking it to see if you uncover another color!
Just buy a carbon sample kit from Fiberglast or a similar company (maybe Easy Composites too?) and get some small amount of West System or similar epoxy. Watch a couple YooTooB videos and go to town.
