    how far in / out do you have your levers, shifters?

      Pretty much like yours. I prefer to hold onto the lever only with one finger and towards the edge of it for more pulling force at a lower effort level.

      That looks right. I hold my grips right on the inside flange so when I corner, I don’t want to rub or accidentally click my shifter/dropper level. And brakes, just enough for one finger to grip comfortably.

      This is a personal preference thing for sure. I ride with my pointer fingers on the brake levers 100% of the time so my levers are placed accordingly. The shifter and dropper lever need to be within comfortable reach but not nearly as critical as brakes. My setup uses different clamps so I need to make some compromises based on brake placement. But again, it’s all about your preferences.

      Far enough away so the dropper and shifter wont touch my thumb with a little clearance. Brake levers where I could use two fingers when needed. Have ridden several bikes where one finger isn’t sufficient enough. The majority actually when i think about it

      Mine are less than one cm from the grip, but I have Magura levers and I hold my grips on the outer edge. Plus I have separate SRAM X01 shifters (about 4 cm from the grip),so not really comparable at all xD

      Depending on the length of the lever, my hayes dominions are exactly 35mm from the end of the grip clamps.

      I hate combined shifters/brakes because I like my brake lever pretty far out for 1 finger braking but I like my shift levers closer.

      Dude, this depends entire on what you prefer. I have big ol’ hands, so my shifter is quite far away. It takes several rides to dial it in. Basically you don’t want that levers touching your fingers when ur charging

      Edit: I am unable to share a picture of mine, because this group doesn’t allow, but my gap between shifter collar and grip is about 35% less than yours

      Depends on the bite point of the brakes. Some have zero free stroke and I can run them closer to the bar, some have a bunch and need to be placed outward.

      I do have angle measurements and distances written down so every bike is the same in that regard.

      Brake lever is a little closer (I prefer to one finger brake with the middle fingers), but shifter is right up against the grip.

      I’m also a Gripshift weirdo

      IMO what you have is way too far me
      My shifter and brake are much closer to the grip but don’t touch each other
      1, 2 fingers total on the brake lever and right at the end of the lever
      Shifter is close enough so my thumb doesn’t move too much

      Quite far in with Hope Tech 3, just enough for 2 fingers but usually just use 1. Also I HATE this type of Shimano mounting, super restrictive and ugly.

      Shimano clamp ~ 18cm from bar ends for me, at least for the single finger lever XT/SLX/Deore series. If you don’t care measuring, the outside support is about one thumb-with from the grip.

      Ballpark like yours, or maybe a bit closer, but I have small hands for my height.

      From the inside edge of the grips (I use the same grips and bar width on every bike) the “brace” of the brake lever is 20mm. On the right side then comes the shift lever clamp, then the brake lever clamp. Left side is the shift clamp and then up against that is the dropper clamp.
