I just worked this yesterday, and fortunately am still in this area. But there is far more damage and moisture on the rest of the trail. So now I'll have several more hours fixing problems instead of making the trail more fun to ride.

So happy to live somewhere that this isn’t considered trail damage. I’d never get to ride if that were the case…
Are both of these the “after” photo?
These types of conversations are always very controversial on this sub. In certain areas like mine riding trails when they’re soft is an absolute no no.
Not a bike park
Trail maintenance includes fixing sections that collect too much water for too long instead of bitching about people using the trail outside your preferred window. Some seem to want all trails to look like machined trails. Go to a bike park. You did not have to work on that section. You chose to. Ruts from tires will usually settle out if left to do so, but when they don’t because they stay wet too long, well refer to the first sentence of this paragraph. And how is it any different than other technical aspects to a non-manicured trail? Are you also the type that cuts out roots to damage trees so the trail looks pristine? If you don’t want to do maintenance, then don’t do it.
I know photos/videos don’t do things justice – what am I looking at here? Where is the damage? If I come across that I’d ride straight across it without a second thought. Educate me please.

Mtb Karens that cry on Reddit whenever someone uses “their” trail in a totally normal and expected way are hilarious.
Looks like that is an area where snow collects and melts slowly. Rest of the section looks dry. Throwing some dirt on top of it…you’ll be back next year complaining about the same thing. Either accept it’s a spot that will need constant maintenance or throw some gravel down and only have to fix it every couple of years.
PSA: the people that are causing the trail damage won’t stop doing so just because you complained online
