The thing about the old ladies asking where you're going and then laughing when you said Marrakech: You need to understand the psychology of old ladies, and as an old lady I can tell you what was going on in their heads.
All their bloody lives all they've been running away in their own heads while holding the family together birthing babies, cleaning and organizing and caring for people and cooking and cleaning and cleaning and cooking. So seeing you chaps do what they've been dreaming of their whole lives, they're laughing with sheer joy that even though they couldn't, at least someone is able to run away.
Trust me. They're envious.
