I am a fit 18y/o guy who has done mountain biking and some basic road biking however am looking to take road biking more seriously. I am looking for a bike preferably below the 2500 GBP mark that is lightweight, quick, and nimble. I ride only on roads and at fast a pace as I can. I like speed so something a little more aggressive.

I was looking at this giant bike, or the canyon endurace cf7.

I know that the canyon is a little less aggressive, however it seems fairly quick and reliable with lower price. The giant has the ride position that I know I would prefer and seems like it would be quicker.

Any other thoughts or bike recommendations from experienced road bikers would be appreciated.

  1. You should go speak to someone at a bike shop. You’ve listed an aero race bike, and a relaxed fit endurance bike. Essentially a Formula one car, and a city hatchback. They’re totally different machines designed for different purposes.
Also bike fit plays a huge role. A fast bike that you are uncomfortable on will be a lot slower than a slower bike that puts you in the right position.
