Do you feel like you’re getting bucked forward as you leave the lip?

Technique wise you’re absorbing a bit with your arms, and less with your legs so the rear end is going to want to come up higher. You’ll want to pump into the face of the jump evenly as possible with arms then legs in order to have more control.

If you don’t pump well with your arms, but push hard with your legs, you’ll end up going a bit nose heavy.

The opposite is also true, if you’re pumping hard with your arms but absorbing with your legs, sometimes you’ll end up with that nose up “Dead sailor” feeling.

If you feel like you’re pumping evenly and still ending up nose heavy, you could look at turning down the rebound in your rear shock to help with this a bit. On flat ground, if you were to “bounce” straight up and down on the bike, you shouldn’t feel like the rear is bucking you.

Yeah to piggy back off this, it’s commonly referred to as “preloading”. You just essentially want to kind of bend up going into the jump, and then pop off the top.

  3. Pop less with your arms and more with your legs. Compress with your legs more into the lip then extend your legs off the lip.

It looks like you’re trying to “muscle” the pop with your upper body instead of letting your legs and suspension do the work. Pulling up too much with your arms and not being active enough with your legs.

Could very easily lead to a dead sailor situation if you pull up too much on one side of the bars causing uneven lift off the lip.
