At least for Shimano I didn’t find the upgrade to electronic shifting particularly mind blowing.

Went from Shimano Ultegra R8000 (2×11 speed mechanical with rim brakes) to Ultegra R8170 (2×12 speed with hydraulic disc brakes). The automatic trimming on the front derailleur is nice. The third button under the rubber hoods is nice to change through bike computer pages. It’s nice that I no longer have to worry about the shifting cable breaking every few thousand kilometers. I can shift even with hands numb from cold.

Shifting performance was great with the mechanical groupset already. Under load I think it was actually a small bit better because fingers just have more strength than the servo motor.
