Customer brought in this Jamis frame that he painted over the winter and wanted to run it with a 2×2 drivetrain! After quite a bit of experimenting with what worked I got it to where I am satisfied. Running a Suntour friction shifter on the seattube and a cable on the barrel adjuster of the rear derailleur so that he can screw it in or out to switch gears. It was definitely a fun project!

  1. Interesting!

    I think I saw a 1×2 at garys.projects for the first time.

*Very* nice decoration, too. I wish your customer could do this to one of my bikes.

Cool project for the technical skill but I don’t see the point haha

Looks clean with the shifters hidden I guess

Is it like a townie bike that can kick it into low to cross a steep bridge? I don’t see the use of the very specific gear ranges.

I don’t get it, but it’s cool that you can do that.
