Dear redditors
I’ve been riding my carbon canyon grizl for 3 years and I’m feeling I want to upgrade. Currently I’m riding GRX400 (2×10 speed).
And I’m wondering if it’s good to switch to Sram Rival AXS (2×12 speed). Feel free to give me your opinions.

I’m riding a Canyon Grail with the 2×11 grx mechanical set up and have had similar thoughts. Definitely interested in how this goes….
If you have the money, then upgrade to the bike you want. You’ll get wireless shifting, bigger tire clearance and the ability to upgrade to a mullet set-up. Nothing but Wins for you!
I’d see if I could swing a Force upgrade, just for the weight savings, but would be very happy with Rival if I could not.
Most new gravel bikes are going 1x so I don’t think I’d want to upgrade to a new 2x groupset.
It would also mean switching hubs on your wheels going Shimano>SRAM.
I don’t think it’s worth it.
I would wait for Shimano’s new groupset
My rain bike is 2x 10sp and all everything is AXS 2x/1x 12s. If comparing the 2x, I don’t miss out on the gearing or tighter jumps w/the 12s group. If the upgrade makes you want to ride more and you have the money, go for it. I don’t think you’ll gain much from it.
“Is anything not working for you?” is the question that should be asked here.
If you stick with Shimano, you can keep the brake calipers and cranks.
Rival AXS is AXS which is the best wireless design. I can’t believe that Shimano still hasn’t caught up.
Now, to answer your question, very few upgrades are worth it in terms of performance improvement for money spent. I doubt GRX to Rival AXS will save you meaning time racing or enable you to ride terrain you can’t already ride. But if you have the money, and it would bring you happiness, get it!
I would switch to a 1by
If money is at all a consideration you could switch to an L-TWOO electronic groupset for a fraction of the price. Been debating doing it myself, a lot of people seem to love it!
If anything go 10-52 1by
