Currently looking at rear cargo racks for a Rockhopper Comp. Does anyone have any experience with this set up, or have a better suggestion? No, I don't want to use panniers. I want to just take my bag from my bike to my station, and avoid wearing a backpack all the time.

Clamp on racks like that are a last resort.
Iirc the comp has eyelets atleast at the rear drop out so you could attatch a cheaper, stronger, lighter, more stable… conventional rack, which will give you a better experience in every respect. I like tortec expeditions but there are many good alternatives.
Unless your backpack is tiny a milk crate or rear basket would probably work better that that little rack pack.
Edit. If yiur frame only has the lower eyelets p clips or an eyeleted seat collar would work to secure the racks upper stays.
Please purchase through your local bike shop or from a small vendor online.
