I bought an old DBS touring tandem bike last summer, and I've taken it appart and stripped almost all paint to the bare metal, only paint left in the joints, but I have roughened it up. Idk what the frame is made out of, should I use montanas metal primer instead? Or doesn't the metal primer stick to paint?

My goal is to get it high gloss, looking new again. Question: would it look good painting the splash guards? I don't have the money to get them chromed.

Would these paints work well for me?

  1. There’s nothing you can buy today that is as good as the original paint on theese bikes. Best guess this is late 80’s early 90’s? And still looked pretty good and could get polished to look even better.

No over the shelf product will be close to as good.

Not really helpful now that you’ve already ruined the bike, sorry.
The spesific paints you show I have no experience with, will probably look good for a few years ..
