Hi everybody,
I was wondering what is the purpose of those attachments on the top of my saddle bag. There is two type, one very horizontal in red and one vertical in green /blue. This is not elastic and it's pretty little (I can put one finger at max). So for now it's useless and there is no explanation on the manufacturer website. My idea behind this question is to find a way to use that space for a bottle, clothes or even a mattress.
Thanks

Route shock cord through the blue circled ones and add a cord lock. I keep my rain gear rolled up there, sometimes a mid layer of the temps are changeable and I don’t want to constantly be in and out of bags.

Midlayer riding on my saddlebag this weekend.
The ones in the sides, I would guess, are to fit some elastic band through the like some bags have
I would imagine the blue ones are for a shock cord type webbing you see on lots of hiking packs, or maybe d rings or carabiners. Larger red ones for attaching small webbing straps
They’re for strappin’ stuff. Most bags have some variation. A couple Voile straps and a shock cord or two and you can strap just about anything to that bag. I’ve used them for light layers and/or camp shoes, tent or rain fly if they’re particularly wet when I’m packing up, I’ve even strapped empty gallon jugs from water caches back there and saved a drive out to pick up the empties. Big fan.
