Hey was doing full service on my roadbike and was wondering if theres still life in this cassette and that i installed it correctly since its the first time doing so 😆
Yeah, some of those cog teeth are looking pretty wave shaped. Does it skip under load when you put a new chain on?

You may experience skipping on the 4-5 cog.

You can see a lot of wear created by the chain on the first four cogs… I would change this out without hesitating. If you put a new chain on it. It’s probably going to jump under load.

Always change cassette and chain together. They have to get worn in. Adapt to each other.

Ride it until a new chain skips on it. There’s no point replacing it earlier.
Usually one can get 3 chains to 1 cassette if you replace the chains once they get to 0.5 wear. Regular chain maintenance will extend their life. The greater the number of cogs in the cassette, the shorter the life of them and the chain.

Is the chain skipping?

Looks ok to me. Keep riding.

To me it looks brand new. They’re sorta shark fin shaped from the factory, except for every like 5 teeth which is more pointy.Â
