I have been waxing for 2 years with silca hot wax, i replaced my chain and casette and decided to use dynamic wander wax.
I degreased the chain with an ultrasonic cleaner for 15 min, then i did 3 baths witch white spirit till there was no more contamination and then i did a final clean with ethanol, just the same as i always do.
I waxed the chain with the dynamic wax and it was all normal, after waxing it the wax had the same clear yellow/white color as it did before.
I came home from my 100km ride i felt the chain was super quit and smooth, only when took a closer look after the ride i noticed when rotating the cranks backwards it isnt that smooth as it used to be, i took a closer at the chain and it was a bit black only on the rollers, not on the outside an a bit stickey.
Im 100% there is no oil left on the new chain either on the bike because i have been riding it since bought it 2 years ago with wax, i installed a new cassette with the chain but i supposed i don't need to degrease a new cassette?
So i decided to rewax it an there was a lot of black stuff coming from inside the rollers, what can this be is it tiny metal parts breaking of the chain? The white/yellow dynamic wax has turned into a gray color i suppose this isn't normal ?
Or is it the tiny amount of black silca wax left on the front chainring that mixed with the new wax ? I suppose not because the black wax never came of the chain when i touched it and now it does come of.

I used wax. Didn’t like it, because I had the same issue. I use regular lube somewhere in between dry and wet weather lube and my chain looks better and sounds better. However that could be subjective. (Shorter intervals of maintenance with regular lube).
If you’d used Silca on your chain then it sounds you had some residue inside the rollers. No amount of cleaning will completely remove all residue of everything, especially wax-based residue which has a melting point of around 60C.
Also Tungsten Disulfide nanoparticles in Silca bind to the metal. The wax is just a carrier (since WS2 is non-soluble). You’re probably seeing some of that being gathered by your new wax.
