I soaked a dirty used bike chain in one of those magnetic parts tray and the result was interesting

Old Shimano chain I got from a used bike was cleaned in mineral oil/wd 40, I had a new one I ended up using instead but wanted this one as a back up. The metal has worn off over time and you can see the magnets underneath as a result
