I’ve been reading they tend to fling rocks. Is that true? I also read that the flinging stops after the initial break in period. Can you guys share your experience with them? Thanks!
I’ve got a lot of miles on a set of these and never noticed an abundance of rocks getting flung. I ran them tucked in some fenders for a while too and definitely would have heard that.

I haven’t noticed this, been running SK’s for over a year

It might depend on the rocks. Big round ones wouldn’t, but if they are about the size of the voids and sharp, they might.

My first set (like 7 years ago) flung loads of rocks, my current set doesn’t 🤷♂️

I had the 26×2.1″ a few years ago and definitely threw up small pebbles, but it wasn’t really any worse than other similar knobby tires I’ve ran.

All my sets fling some small rocks like crazy when new but it will go away with some wear

Mine do, but there’s lots of pebbles on my local gravel that wedge into the tread. The new X1 tread pattern is supposed to reduce a lot of that.

in my experience riding over more sandy or gravely conditions where there were small pebbles (think around the size of a large ball bearing and smaller), then yes, they do very much fulfill their namesake of GravelFlings lol. your mileage may vary, however. i like them for around town since they roll well, and when i need to go offroad on like grass or dirt, then i’m confident i can.
i will say, i haven’t done much ‘real’ offroading with them, but i know i will give them a go this spring. they’re definitely not a full-on MTB tire, tho, as you’re probably aware. i wish Panaracer made the GravelKing SS in 26″. i’d definitely buy a pair.

They get them like for 200m when new and done

By most accounts this was an issue early on that they somehow figured out how to stop from happening. But all the old reviews are still up on the internet.
Fwiw, my SKs (650×47) don’t fling anything.

Just replaced my wife’s gk sk+ in 27.5×48. This is her second set. They fling when new but it goes away after say maybe 100miles. IMO they are exceptional tires. She refused to even consider anything else.
