How would one do this on a semi vintage bike? I belive this one is from early ’80.
I am looking for mostly tips and tricks. I never rebuilt a bicycle before. Some minor gear ajustment on my roadbike only ( i do work with veichles, so some mechanical knowledge is present )
Is there any special tools that i would need to buy?
What gearing would you recommend?
Thank you in advance!

The one piece cranks are a big factor. If they are removable and can make it a single, you’re good. If not, you’ll need some one piece bmx cranks with a single chainring to replace them.
The rear wheel can be made SS by removing the freewheel cluster and replacing it with a BMX freewheel. After that, reverse the axle, which then corrects the chainline. A minimal re-dish of the wheel is often required.

I’ve done this numerous times on old road bikes.
