I’m a total bicycle novice, but will be cycling more and more since recently moving home, hopefully taking groceries back from the supermarket on it in the near future.
A local bike shop suggested they wouldn’t be able to attach (one of their available) baskets to my bike given its somewhat awkward form. Can that be true? The staff in charge seemed inexperienced, so I’ve come here to ask.
Is there any (preferable) way to attach a basket to such a pseudo beach cruiser?
Can I somehow get a milk crate on the back like an inverse E.T scene?
If so, could anyone please suggest what I need?
I’m in Tokyo, Kichijoji, if it’s relevant.
Many thanks.

I personally would get rear rack like the in the image for example, since you have the eylets for it and attach with zipties a basket on top of it, but you also need to check if your wishbone stays have eyelets too, you should find them in similar location like on the image, behind the seatpost tube, they can also be on the inside of the stays.
Go to Blue Lug, if they say no it’s a no.
You could try a ClickFix basket. If you would like a bigger crate then a steco front carrier should do the trick 😉
