  1. Usually when I hear this it’s cause my cranks are loose but I also have old ass cranks that need to be replaced already so idk lol

    Check your pedals!
Sometimes, stuff gets up in there when they’re alil worn.

  3. Probably bottom bracket. Flip the bike over, grab the crank arms, one in each hand, and rock it towards and away from the frame. If there’s any give, its loose, or there’s noise, it’s the BB. If you got the tools and a torque wrench you can do it at home, but if you don’t have a crank puller, BB socket or wrench, just take it to your LBS, they should be able to help you quick and either replace on the spot or will measure/order a new one for you.

When when the last time you checked you chain? It’s the easiest to check for wear personally id start there.

  5. Also check your seatpost. Remove, clean, grease and reinstall. Torque properly. You can tell if it is a seatpost issue by pedaling out of the saddle (standing on the pedals). If it goes away, it is the seatpost.

Fun story. Worked in a bike shop. High milage ,high end road monster brings in bike and complains bottom bracket clicking. Regease and reseat BB, still clicking. Replace BB. Still clicking. Tighten seat bolt on seatpost…..no clicking

Step 1: file your teeth down to sharper points
Step 2: have a look at your bicycle’s chain ring
    Step 3: repeat
