Dutch roundabout doesn't make sense with the underpath
Rotherham has gotta be one of the singlehandedly most depressing places in the country. Theres just nothing going for the place anymore. At least Barnsley is still carrying the life in south yorkshire though.
The traffic at that roundabout is horrendous at peak times.
The backlog due to roadworks whilst they put the cycle lanes down caused huge backlogs back to Meadowhall. And for what? The cycle lanes are never used. I have driven down there countless times and always joke about 'count the cyclist' – you never see any!!!
Net Zero has become an ideology and wherever there is an ideology there is no room for logic. Anyone challenging is ridiculed and ignored. Try getting a response from those in charge (and they are in charge not the public that finances them) to a simple question – how do you measure the success of implementing all these cycle lanes and what performance improvements are you putting in place to ensure target use is met?
Good luck getting answers to that.
I'd love to see their assessment of travel flow once this 'improvement' has been imposed. I assume any challenges would be pre-dismissed by the ideologists, because hey Net-Zero!

Complete waste of money! Tim the new style roundabout at the bottom of Broom road is already showing damage due to usage. This is not a traffic problem, it's the design of the roundabout. The grate plates are positioned exactly where vehicles will drive overs them, causing them to start lifting! The design of the cycle lanes has dictated the size of the roundabout. Never had a problem cycling before the cycle lanes!
Is this a main ring rd if they do that it will kill Rotherham so sad to hear about this I thought I heard about it sometime before maybe on The Sheffield Star a couple of years ago maybe two years ago
Rotherham council should fix the potholes in all the roads, but that seems low on their list of priorities.
