I picked up this bike for $25 to set it up for my sister. It had a lot of knicks and a a little bit of rust so I touched it up with gold enamel. It was a really fun build, except for when I had to learn about Force 40 Plus brakes… Honestly they aren't that bad, just mushy because the springs are dead.

Also, those particular era of canti calipers reallllly don’t hold up cos the plastic retainer around the spring cracks then won’t hold tension. Check for cracks! There are new, almost exact replacement calipers for like $15 a set at the LBS, you can bet on it
