My right crank of my power meter crankset broke and I wanted to write Stages about a possible replacement. Now I find that stages got bought by SPIA Cycling and does not offer customer support for products sold by the previous owner. Any ideas what I can do? They do not even show an email address for support.

Try Shimano at least. If I am not mistaken these cranks were recalled. Even a non power meter crankset is better than a broken one with a power meter.
Stages didn’t manufacture the crankset, Shimano did.
Is this one of the cranks covered by the recall?

I used to work for a shop.
The [recall](https://bike.shimano.com/en-AU/information/customer-services/corrective-actions/important-safety-notice-11-speed-hollowtech-road-cranksets-inspection-program.html#accordion-682d5bea34-item-53d07bd0cd) states:
>Any crankset with a power meter that is found to fail during inspection and is sent back to Shimano will be replaced free of charge without the 3rd party power meter attached.
>However, an additional payment, based on the market average alongside the replacement crankset, can be used to purchase and mount a new power meter from a 3rd party onto a replacement crankset.
I don’t know that the exact amount of the rebate for 3rd party power meters is supposed to be public information, so I won’t reveal it. But what I can tell you is that it is quite close to covering the whole cost of having a new power meter installed on the new crankset they send you.
That’s probably the best you’re going to get.

That’s not what’s written.
They say the can’t offer support *at this time*. This doesn’t mean they will never offer support again (and depending on which country you’re in they might even legally be required to honor the previous warranties).
Isn’t this one of the cranks in the recall? Damn, that’s a scary failure hope you’re ok.
I have dealt with over 100 Shimano crank returns including about 6 with power meters. The shop will get a payment for processing the return.
Shimano will ship a new crankset. There will be a separate payment for a power meter. It’s more for a double sided one. The shop has to sign a declaration that they will give you the payment.
