Hello, everyone.

I’m looking for advice on getting a new mountain bike. I used to ride a long time ago but took a break, and now I want to get back into it. I’m searching for a good bike in the $1,000–$1,200 range and have been considering models like the Trek Marlin 7 Gen 2 or the Specialized Rockhopper Expert.

While browsing Trek’s website, I came across another bike that caught my interest, but the only available frame sizes are M/L and XL. I’m 5’10”, and based on what I’ve read, I think a size L would be the best fit for me but since it’s not available, I’m unsure if the M/L would work or if I should keep looking.

What do you think? I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations!

  1. The Roscoe 7 is a solid bike to get back into the sport on, really any of your picks would be. Are you sure you’d be a Large? Trek’s own size chart says M/L is 5’8″-5’11” while the L is 5’10”-6’2″. Unless you have a super long inseam and short torso, M/L seems like it’d be fine.

Best thing you can do is visit your local dealer and try some bikes in person to determine proper fit.
