I've had this nose for quite a while. It seems to happen when I don't double click the shifter. A single click will move the chain but it will make this noise until I hold down the shifter lever for a few seconds. I've been wanting to change the shifter but have had a hard time finding an XT 10s.

I assume that either your cable tension is low or your drive train is worn. Do you know how to use a barrel adjuster?
Is it a 1x drivetrain? Sounds like the chain is rubbing slightly against the cassette(slight turn of the barrel adjustment might fix it)
Tightening the cable with the connector has definitely led to smoother shifting. I haven’t noticed the noise yet either. I’ll go for a ride soon. Thanks for your help?
